Rainy Day December Wedding

Despite the forecasted rain on their wedding day, Lindsay and Isaac were cleared to hit the runway and take off toward their happily ever after! Get it? They’re pilots? I better leave the “dad jokes” to my husband. Anyway, Lindsay and Isaac are both passenger plane pilots, they’re absolutely adorable together, and they throw one heck of a party! This rainy day December wedding did not disappoint!

Thankfully for my couple, every aspect of the wedding day was already going to take place indoors. We did have to compromise outdoor portraits, but no wedding day ever goes fully according to plan. We settled for family formals and a few portraits of Lindsay and Isaac in front of the altar of the church where they said “I do”, followed by more portraits and bridal party photos in front of the fireplace at the reception venue. If Lindsay was in anyway stressed about this last minute change of plans, I think the hour-long bus ride with their wild and fun bridal party members and a cooler of jello-shots left her nice and relaxed and ready for anything.

WOW! Did we luck out with the most stunning reception space for photos! The Villa is a photographer’s dream. The lighting, the aesthetically pleasing fire place, the cozy and luxurious seating!!! I took one photo, looked at Lindsay and said, “These are going to be amazing.”

The details

I need to maybe be better at this, but I never know what colors my brides and grooms have chosen for their wedding day until I arrive at the bridal suite. When I arrived to the house where Lindsay was getting ready and saw that her colors were PINK, I squealed in delight! Oh, my photographer heart was absolutely tickled. And the favors?! Little airplane ornaments! Sticking to the pilot theme, Isaac’s father incorporated a lot of props into his speech- even including the flower girl and ring bearers! So cute. And when it came time to hit the dance floor, guests were rocking all kinds of aviation gear!
