Boston Haborwalk Engagement Session

Boston is the city for engagements! So many of my engagement sessions take place in this beautiful city, and I can see why. Besides it offering amazing backdrops, such as the view of the harbor, it is home to many love stories. In my little romantic mind, I’m imagining a meet cute at the Thinking Cup on Tremont Street on a chilly Sunday morning, followed by a cozy stroll through the Common. And, ta-da! Happily ever after. I know that isn’t actually how love stories tend to go, but it’s easy to get swept up in the awe and wonder of the city and associate it with the opening scenes from the movie Serendipity. Fun Fact: It’s one of my absolute favorites! Might even watch it tonight to get me in the holiday spirit! It will pair perfectly with scrolling through photos from this Boston Harborwalk engagement session.

My session with Kat and Jake started out a bit differently than most of my engagement sessions. Because they are getting married in Boston, where they live, I was able to take a tour of their wedding venue! We discussed the vision for their day and we scouted possible locations for formals and first look. Talk about excitement on my end about advanced preparation! Most might think the importance of incorporating an engagement session is for the photos, but it’s actually more about getting to know your photographer and your photographer getting to know you and preparing for portraits on your wedding day. I love building a relationship with my couples. Having a personal relationship with them helps me to become emotionally invested in my work with them, which helps me stay excited about editing their images. Wink, wink.
