A Harborview Beach love story.
Oh happy day!!
All week leading up to Becca and Jake’s engagement session the weather called for total cloud cover. Then, literally the day before, the forecast shifted and predicted sunshine and clear skies! I love a cloudy, overcast day at the beach, but I LOVE when I can highlight my subjects with that beautiful glow from the sun. Y’all, I’m swooning over this entire gallery! I’m so excited for you to keep scrolling through so you can fall in love with the magic of this session, too!
Becca and Jake were the first couple to book me as their wedding photographer. My heart exploded when Becca told me she loved my photos and my style, and that she wanted me to capture their special day. Becca’s mom is a Mashpee fire wife, too, so I already felt like I knew her when I met with her and Jake for lunch to discuss the plans for their wedding. Side note- they took me to a local tea room, and it was the most adorable place ever. The wedding will take place at the Flying Bridge Restaurant in Falmouth, MA next June! Let the countdown begin!
the story
Becca and Jake met at the Red Jacket Beach Resort in South Yarmouth, MA in 2011. Becca was a bridal attendant and Jake was a bellman at the resort. The two finally started dating in 2015, and I’m so glad they did because they are perfect complements to one another!
Jake proposed in February 2019 while the two were spending Valentine’s Day weekend in North Conway, NH, where they stayed at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort. Yes, ANOTHER Red Jacket! I’m thinking it’s good luck! They spent Valentine’s Day driving around enjoying the beautiful scenery (If you haven’t been to North Conway in the winter, it’s a must! It’s absolutely breathtaking when it’s covered in snow), all the while Jake planning on stopping at a scenic overlook to pop the question. Well, when it snows in New Hampshire, it REALLY snows! Eight feet of snow rerouted his plans, and they ended up on the balcony of their hotel room with Jake on one knee and Becca the happiest girl in that snow-covered town.

I love when my clients bring me to locations that hold a special memory or place in their hearts. For Becca and Jake, Harborview Beach in South Dennis, MA is where Jake and his family grew up. Jake’s grandfather built a family home in the neighborhood next to this beautiful beach, and Becca and Jake have been enjoying the scenic walk down to the sand every summer.

Jake received the honor of proposing with Becca’s grandmother’s ring. Such a beautiful sentiment that makes this love story even more special. Another sign of good luck, too, if you ask me!
Becca shared one of her favorite memories she has of her and Jake, and it’s the cutest. On their first date, Becca was so nervous she spilt red sangria all over herself. Watching them together, there wasn’t a nervous bone in her body. Just total and complete joy. Jake puts her at ease, and I can see that. Perhaps it’s his calming presence that she loves so much about him. I’m always in awe of how relationships bloom; how one day you barely know someone, and the next they are your whole world. It’s a crazy, beautiful thing.
I can’t wait to share their happily ever after with you a year from now!
