I'm a Florida girl at heart, but fell in love here on Cape Cod and have been embracing New England life ever since. It's been such a blessing building a life and chasing my dreams with my husband, our two little girls, and our pups.

Saturday August 24th. What A Day!! Not only was I documenting Kate and Brett’s love story, but one of my couples from last summer celebrated their one-year anniversary! I love being surrounded by so much love and happiness. AND, I LOVE playing just small part in making sure it doesn’t fade away. This was my first Cape Cod wedding at The Coonamessett, and I hope to be back as a vendor again soon!
Kate and Brett and their guests certainly brought some gorgeous weather; sunny, cloudless sky with a hint of autumn breeze. Due to the bright and brilliant sunshine, though, we did need to make some adjustments during portraits. The Inn overlooks a lovely little pond, and that is where Kate and Brett’s first look would take place. But, man that sun! After a bit of location scouting, we compromised on placement. This resulted in stunning layers of visual interest that also worked to counter the harsh lighting. We placed the couple in a walkway lined with hydrangea bushes, which helped absorb some of that light. Off in the distance the pond can still be seen. I love how these images came out. Plus, I think our location choice provided a bit more intimacy for this special moment.
Thankfully, the grounds of The Coonamessett are lush, and full of vibrant variety. We were able to utilize a shady area behind the gazebo for our first set of Kate and Brett’s bride and groom portraits, as well as family formals. Greenery isn’t something I am naturally drawn to when finding the perfect background for photos. That being said, I couldn’t be more in love with how everything turned out.
From the moment I arrived at Kate and Brett’s Welcome Party the night before, I was greeted with such kindness and affection. It is a truly wonderful feeling to be a wedding vendor, and for many reasons! I get to travel all over the Cape, enjoying the scenic views. I get to know and work with other amazing vendors and venues. Best of all, I get to spend ALL DAY celebrating every beautiful moment with my couples.
Brett was unsure about having his photo taken at the Welcome Party, but on the day of the wedding he came ready to shine! It probably helped that he started the morning playing golf, and eased into the photography portion of the day while watching football. Kate was ready for photos the moment I met her! (She told me she would have a party dress for the dancing portion of the reception. EEK!) And I was thrilled because she’s cute as a button! I couldn’t NOT take her picture even if she asked me to. Opposites definitely attract, here. And I love when they do.
Individually, Kate and Brett are absolutely beautiful humans inside and out. Together, they SHINE. I’m always in awe of the couples I’m chosen to work with, and these two are no exception. Thank you both for radiating so much kindness and joy. And a double thank you for inviting me into your love story. This Cape Cod wedding at The Coonamessett was nothing short of a dream to photograph.
