Planning your Engagement Session
Get to know me more
I'm a Florida girl at heart, but fell in love here on Cape Cod and have been embracing New England life ever since. It's been such a blessing building a life and chasing my dreams with my husband, our two little girls, and our pups.
I'm Ashley!

Cassie and Chris are the happiest, sweetest couple. They love to hold hands and hold each other close. I don’t think they stopped smiling or laughing once throughout their engagement session. And I LOVED that! It makes documenting their love story easy. Cassie and Chris were convinced they needed a lot of guidance in the posing department, but they naturally fell into many of the poses I prompt. While I do come with a posing plan, I always like to step back and let my couples’ chemistry and connection speak for itself. And if you’re nervous in front of the camera, don’t worry. I talk throughout the entire session, keeping things comfortable and never allowing you to overthink getting your picture taken. Come relaxed, and come have fun. And for your engagement session, maybe even come to Black Rock Beach!
When Cassie and Chris reached out to book me as their photographer, I remember them saying how they felt like they already knew me. They read about me on my website, and really connected with my story. My husband is a firefighter, Chris is a police officer with the NYPD. Matt and I met on Match.com, and Cassie and Chris met online, as well. Our love stories our similar. The culture of our relationships are similar, with Matt and Chris being first responders and all. Turns out, we are similar in so many other ways, too! Watching them interact together reminded me so much of Matt and I. I kept sharing stories of us on our wedding day when our photographer took our photos. We just couldn’t stop smiling. And that’s Cassie and Chris.
I love that by sharing a little bit about who I am and the life that I’m living, I’m inviting my couples to be part of it. I’m inviting them to become friends with me, to get to know me on a personal level. In doing so, I’m removing the notion that my relationship to them is strictly professional. Yes, I’m being hired to capture their memories. But I want to share those memories with my clients. I want to celebrate with them and follow along on their journey. I genuinely love what I do, and I think it’s because I’m putting my relationships with my clients first.
After working the midnight shift as an ICU nurse, Cassie came home to the sweetest surprise. Chris built a wooden letter box and hid it in the garden outside of their home. When Cassie opened the box, she found a letter asking her to marry him. A true old-fashioned proposal, folks.
I love letters. Writing my thoughts and feelings out on paper is just so meaningful, I think. Matt and I don’t write each other letters, but we did start a tradition with the girls. We write them each a letter every year on their birthdays. When they turn 18, we will gift them the collection of letters. They’re definitely love letters from us. But now I’m thinking we need to start writing letters to each other, as well. Thanks for the inspiration, Cassie and Chris!
