I'm a Florida girl at heart, but fell in love here on Cape Cod and have been embracing New England life ever since. It's been such a blessing building a life and chasing my dreams with my husband, our two little girls, and our pups.
I'm Ashley!

I’m a girl who loves sunshine and summer time. Put me back in my hometown of St. Petersburg, FL where the hot pavement mixes with rain during a sun shower and creates the most delicious smell; where warm summer nights exists year round. Of course, I didn’t appreciate these things as much as I should have while living there. I sure do now that I’m miles and miles away. As much as I love the warm sunshine state, though, I have loved Cape Cod’s off-season since I moved here ten years ago. I love the stillness of it. And I don’t think the beaches are ever as pretty as they are in fall and winter, simply because of those beautiful winter sunsets. I’m sure Caroline and Kevin’s November wedding at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel in Falmouth, MA will show you what I mean.
The Sea Crest property does not disappoint. It sits right on the beach, with the most beautiful view of the sunset. The sun actually sets right into the horizon line from this spot on the Cape, and it’s amazing to watch. And when timed just right, it creates the perfect light to photograph in. Honestly, we had incredible light all day. The sun sets behind the property, which made it easy to photograph my subjects with the view of the water behind them. And the sand is white on this stretch of beach, acting as a natural reflector. Clean light is always what I chase, and this spot had it in abundance.
First looks have my heart. I did one at my own wedding, and I definitely let my couples know that my opinion heavily favors first looks over the traditional option for many reasons. No matter how you see each other for the first time on your wedding day, it’s still going to be absolutely special. But, do the first look. Watching Caroline and Kevin’s first look together… I couldn’t look away. I know, I wasn’t supposed to! But even if I had to, I wouldn’t have been able to. I was sucked right in to that wholesome moment. Kevin presented a blue French horn to her during their first look (are you cool enough to know its significance? If not, please do yourself a favor and go watch “How I Met Your Mother”.) What really pulled at my heart strings, though, was him presenting her with two sobriety chips. These symbolize that their continued commitment to living a sober life is no longer an individual one; instead, it’s a united one. Caroline and Kevin, I’m so in love with the way you continue to write your love story.
