Summer on Nantucket Engagement Session
One of my dreams as a photographer finally came true! I hopped on the fast ferry over to Nantucket on Labor Day and photographed this stunning engagement session! Gorgeous sunlight, Nantucket blue sky, and all of the island charm you can imagine. It was a day filled with fun, love, sight-seeing, and soaking up every bit of the island life I’ve come to know and love through Elin Hildebrand books. A summer on Nantucket engagement session for the books (literally), and I can’t wait to head back next September for Moira and George’s wedding!
living the local life
Moira has been summering on Nantucket her entire life. Everything this island is, she holds near and dear to her heart. And now her love for George is included in that. The couple has been building memories here for the last few years, and you can clearly see that the spirit of this quaint little piece of paradise shines right through them.
We girls bonded immediately over our love for Elin Hildebrand. She paints such a beautiful picture of Nantucket. We toured some of the iconic spots featured in her novels. And I found out the author is frequently spotted around town. Did I mention it was a dream of a day?!

For the engagement session we shot mostly at Brant Point Lighthouse and Jetty’s Beach. What I love about both locations is the mix of elements. Tall beach grass and large rocks are abundant along the water’s edge, and the lighthouse adds a a dynamic New England focal point. Jetty’s beach features a nice boardwalk, which runs right alongside a beach bar. So, not only was it a great spot for photos, it provided a fun atmosphere.
We ended the session downtown at the library. Wanting to capture a little bit of classic Nantucket, we danced across the cobblestone streets and nestled in the exterior nooks of the library. And as I’m writing this up, I’m realizing just how perfect that last stop was. Given of our love of books, of course.
And maybe, just maybe, this summer will end up being one that people write songs about
