I'm a Florida girl at heart, but fell in love here on Cape Cod and have been embracing New England life ever since. It's been such a blessing building a life and chasing my dreams with my husband, our two little girls, and our pups.
I'm Ashley!

Ah, the summer of 2023. The summer of rain for so many couples, including Christine and Brian. They handled their fate of a rained out wedding day gracefully, because I mean what is the alternative? But I felt frustrated for them. Many couples choose their wedding venues based on the surrounding views and the grounds of the property, and a rain forecast can definitely dampen the mood. Pun intended. I do think I’m blessed with a little magic, though. I don’t want to jinx it; but, for every rainy wedding I’ve photographed, the rain has stopped and the sun has popped out just long enough for us to grab some portraits. Maybe it’s because I’m from Florida, the Sunshine State? And that very magic happened at Christine and Brian’s summer wedding at The Cape Club in Falmouth, MA.
Because The Cape Club is a stunning wedding venue, inside and out, the rain did not stand in the way of beautiful images or a beautiful wedding. Christine and Brian shared their first look in the reception space since it was already set up. Gosh, I absolutely love that room. And I love how rain can encourage a little extra creativity. Pro Tip: Plan for some portraits in your reception space before all of your guests arrive.
The ceremony took place in the room that also doubles as the bridal suite. Absolutely gorgeous. My only complaint is that I lost all of the family members to cocktail hour after the recessional because they walked right next door to the bar. The role of photographer often looks a lot like herding cats. Not to worry! All wanderers were marched to the patio for formals and set free with plenty of time to enjoy cocktail hour.
I found out while photographing Brian getting ready that he and Christine secretly got married before their wedding day! I couldn’t love this more. Wedding days can take away from the intimacy of committing to forever with your person. Don’t get me wrong, I love being surrounded by my favorite people and having a really big and fun party. I just know that I worried about the whole reason we were having a wedding (to celebrate our love for one another) might get lost in the excitement for the open bar.
Christine and Brian announced their little secret at the end of their ceremony. So fun to see all of the shock and excitement from their guests. Now everyone had double the celebrating to do!
Pup friendly venues? YES PLEASE!!
We weren’t sure when or if the rain would subside, so we captured a few portraits while we hid from guests before the ceremony.
Thank you for such a fun wedding day, Christine and Brian! Wishing you both so much love and happiness.
