Nursery Room Milestone Sessions: A Year in the Life

Think baby photos end at a newborn session? Think again! There are so many milestones that happen during a baby’s first year of life. Why not document them? I had a vision with Emma’s nursery. Turns out, her room has some of the best light in the house! I started with some simple photos of her as a newborn on her white rug, then it continued from there. I call her my little lemon, so it’s fitting that her first year of life was told through my lens in her lemon themed nursery. Your little one’s nursery room is the perfect place to host their milestone sessions. It’s comfortable and safe, and it adds a beautiful storytelling element: A year in the life of your little bundle of joy.

What I love most about in-home sessions is that they represent your home. They encapsulate the essence of you and your family in the place that your love grows. When you design your baby’s nursery room, you’re putting your whole heart into the vision of that space. The nursery room is, essentially, your little one’s whole life for the first year. I know it was my whole life, as well. Still is, actually. Late nights playing on the rug when Emma will not sleep, wrestling her on the changing table, singing her good morning song to her when she wakes up. And now, when I look back on these photos I took, I’m going to remember all of the memories made in her room.
