Spring Lake Beach in Spring Lake, NJ is a stunner, people! I mean, I love it for more than just it’s incredible beauty (gorgeous light, Caribbean blue water, and the perfect shade of beige sand) but that’s definitely a top reason. This beach represents the love of our two friends. It’s where they spend every single weekend its warm, it’s where they got married, it’s where we drive as we listen to great tunes while enjoying the company of our favorite humans and smelling the salty air. This beach is our home away from home, and it’s where I hope to someday photograph at more often! Our most recent visit blessed us with a new little bundle to love. Meet baby Donny! And with ties this strong to Spring Lake Beach, it’s no wonder we ended up here for his newborn session!

For anyone reading this thinking “Ugh, the Jersey Shore. Really?” Think again! This little slice of heaven is literally that; HEAVEN. Excellent places to eat, a scenic downtown, and super cute Bed and Breakfasts! Hoffman’s Ice Cream is very delicious, but busy! Anything good is worth the wait, though! One town over at Bradley Beach, you’ll find the best bagels at Bagel International and Deli and satisfying Italian food at Del Ponte’s. Just be sure to walk around the corner to their bakery! Oh, my mouth is watering just thinking about their cannolis and cookies.

Traditionally, newborn sessions take place in a studio or at the family’s home. However, outdoor newborn sessions are becoming quite popular! I love that Michelle and Donny wanted to incorporate their love for the beach into their session. I think if Michelle could be a mermaid, she would. She lives and breathes the sea. The sun and the sand is her home. Baby Donny is going to adventure down to the shore right along with them, and I love that we christened his first sandy stroll in front of the lens.
