Cape Cod Lifestyle Newborn Session

The fire department family gained another little member recently! Meet Baby Luca! Matt and I have been part of the Mashpee Fire Department for 7 years now, and we’ve been blessed with such an amazing group of people to call family. Kim and I, along with a few others, have been a close-knit group of wives. We support each other, love each other, and celebrate each other. We’re sisters and friends in every way. I’ve been documenting Kim and Torey’s relationship since they got engaged (they were the first to support this photography venture), and I’m honored to document them becoming parents. I’m so excited to share more from their Cape Cod lifestyle newborn session!

Little Luca is 3 weeks new, and I’ve learned that’s a pretty tough age to photograph these sweet babes. They’re realizing their place Earth side is permanent, they’re growing, their learning, and it’s a lot for them to handle. The beauty of lifestyle sessions is that there’s room for fussy babies. I’m looking to document the connections between mom and dad and the newest addition (or additions), so I don’t always need baby to be happy for the camera. I actually had Kim and Torey turn Luca around to face the wall at one point and instructed them to just kiss and snuggle him. You gotta do whatever it takes!

A brother for Tucker

The main reason for this in-home session was so that we could incorporate Tucker in some of the family photos. Tucker is their feisty and lovable Corgi, and Kim’s first dream come true (besides meeting and falling in love with Torey, of course). Their adorable family is complete for now, and capturing them is always such a pleasure.
