Megansett Beach Senior Session

Cold temps hit New England hard and fast come October. The beach can be absolutely miserable in the off season, especially with the wind that whips through the Cape. That being said, the light in the fall is exceptional at the beach! Bundle up and mentally prepare yourself for your hands to absolutely freeze (I mean, what else can you do?). Thank goodness Jessica is a trooper and pushed through the bitter cold. We made it work to our advantage, using the cold weather to channel all of the cozy vibes. We wouldn’t have survived without Jessica’s family providing hand warmers though! I’m so in love with this Megansett Beach senior session!

Tall grass, a wide stretch of sand, sensational views of the harbor bay, and a rock jetty make for stunning portraits here at Megansett Beach. It’s also a perfect spot to park and enjoy the smell of the ocean air and the quiet calm of the beach. When Mackenzie was a baby I did a lot of driving to induce naps. I often ended up here, and it provided many relaxing moments for this new mama.

My favorite part of Jessica’s session was capturing her and her adorable pup! These two are the very best of friends, and it meant the world to Jessica to have him with her. How cute are they?!

Photographer Tip:

If your location has a rock jetty, USE IT! Jetties make for some of the best photos, as you can see here. They add a depth to your portraits that is just so breathtaking. My husband and I have photos from our wedding day and our recent family photos that were taken on rock jetties and they are without a doubt my favorite images.

Ending with a little young love. Jessica’s boyfriend is a big part of her story, and I’m happy they could share a moment together in front of the lens.
