Thursday night’s session was one for the books. It was the perfect summer night- clear blue skies, warm summer breeze, gorgeous sunset glow, and the most adorable couple. Magic happens everyday in front of my lens, but this stunning Cape Cod maternity session was a special kind of magic.
I met Katie and Tim at Nobska Light in Falmouth, MA. These two love lighthouses and the beach. I must say, I am totally a fan of lighthouses after photographing at this one! Especially, when they are bathed in that beautiful golden glow!
Katie and Tim live in Hoboken, NJ, and are enjoying a little Baby Moon here on the Cape while visiting Tim’s parents! Katie is a Florida girl at heart (like me!); born and raised in Marco Island. Matt grew up vacationing down there in the winters, and a few years ago I finally made the trip down there with him. It was my first time ever visiting Marco Island, and I absolutely loved it! The beaches are heavenly! If you’re craving chicken and waffles (and who doesn’t?), you must grab a seat and some delicious sweet tea at Doreen’s Cup of Joe before you hit the sun and sand.
My favorite spot of the entire session was definitely this salt pond across from Quissett Beach. If you can’t already tell, I seek that dreamy sunset glow. It turns every day images into something to be desired, it’s the very ingredient which is essential to create the magic I so love to see behind the lens, and it’s what Katie fell in love when with she found me and saw my work.
Here in this very spot, we found GLOW!

Katie’s laugh is infectious, and I made sure Tim had her laughing throughout the entire session. These two genuinely love being together, and you can see from these images they bring out the very best in one another. Their little girl is so lucky already to have them for parents.
I was telling Tim that being a girl dad is amazing! My husband was hoping for a boy when we were expecting Mackenzie- I feel like most men do- but he is loving having a daddy’s girl. Tim is pumped! When I look at how in love he is with Katie, I think of the Carrie Underwood song “All-American Girl”. Especially the verse: “sweet little beautiful, one just like you”.
