The Spears are splashing into summer!

Yay! Summer is finally here, and we plan to soak up every minute of it!

We’ve been waiting for that first super hot day of the season to bring Mackenzie’s little pool out of hibernation, and today was the day (and she was trying to climb into her water table)! We’ve also been waiting until we had an actual lawn to set it up in, but the yard renovation is taking a little longer than anticipated and we could’t prolong the first pool day of summer any longer! If you can’t already tell, she loved EVERY. SINGLE. MINUTE. of it! And with Matt working on Father’s Day, this was the perfect time to make some memories together as a family and celebrate all of our blessings.

Little Mack is definitely loving all of our family time, too. She is so spoiled since Matt and I both have incredibly flexible schedules and are home more than we are away. Her new thing is to make sure her “mama” and “dada” and “charyee” are at her side wherever she goes. Our moments are definitely not always this picture perfect, or even close, but we are constantly reminding each other that the days may be super long and full of frustration at times but the years are so short. Our little love is going to be TWO at the end of summer and I can’t even believe it! Where did my baby girl go, and who is this fearless, waterslide-loving, tiny human?! Oh, but this stage we are in with her has been my absolute favorite! I love the little person she is becoming, and I LOVE that we can have these pool days!! Now, if we could only get her to like the beach half as much as she loves her little elephant pool! On the plus side, no sandy mess!

And speaking of “not so picture perfect moments”, we were both yelling at each other because I wanted to photograph detail shots of her boots and her, being a photographer’s child, had had enough of the camera. Can’t have a successful photoshoot without at least one meltdown, am I right?
